20x6: The Marathon Continues Mika and Teddy receive a patient from a nearby penitentiary; Catherine pushes back on Link and Monica's treatment plan for a VIP; Bailey tries to integrate wellness into the residency programme.
I really hate Meredith’s nephew (whose name I never remember). He’s so annoying. I might start having to add him to my “die” list with Owen. (J/K. No one is as bad as Owen.)
During this episode, I wondered if I would find him less annoying if he got a haircut. Not even a really drastic one! Just a trim so that his eyes and eyebrows were more visible.
BTW, I thought I knew his name but after I read your post, I thought uhhh, wait, what is his name?
Meredith's voiceover when her nephew was walking up the stairs at the end of the episode was about finding out things have changed while you were gone so I was convinced he was going to walk in on Kwan and Simone having sex. I was so relieved that it was just Kwan moving into his room.
I liked Kwan and Simone getting to know each other, but the scene in the kitchen was so awkward. It seemed like Harry Shum Jr. was having a natural/casual conversation while he cooked but the actress playing Simone was so stiff and stilted. I couldn't tell if it was an acting choice or if she's not a great actress (I didn't have an issue with her acting last season but she stuck out like a sore thumb in this scene). Heh or maybe I was just distracted by Kwan cooking what sounded like a delicious meal.
Yeah the set up seemed classic set up for it to reveal that Simonr and Kwan had hooked up. I genuinely sagged in relief that it was Kwan moving in.
There was a nervous awkward energy coming from the Simone actress in her scenes with Kwan. I'm deciding to ignore it because I'm so happy the show is actually showing this group becoming friends especially outside of work. Their dead mom bonding and cooking session worked for me.
I thought Natalie Morales was fine as Tom's girlfriend on Parks & Rec, but her character on Grey's has been pretty annoying so far, which means I hate that I know she's going to end up being Amelia's next girlfriend. I also wish she would start speaking from her chest instead of her throat (as a former choir kid, hearing people talk like this is nails on a chalkboard for me).
I don't remember Catherine being quite so heavy handed with the doctors about giving donors the upgraded platinum service before. It's one thing to remind the staff to be extra nice to the donors, but it's another to threaten to reduce their pay if they don't make the donors happy. I wonder if that means the hospital is having some financial issues that Catherine is keeping a secret. If not, she's just being an asshole.

I might be misremembering but I think maybe he wasn't in this episode? Or my brain has finally been able to successfully block him from my memory!
