Years and years ago, I used to post on a forum (that I can’t even remember the name of, so I don’t know if it’s still going), that would post news stories for people to comment on. Whenever the topic of a woman being killed/assaulted by a man would arise, male posters would go crazy at any woman who claimed she was cautious around strange men. However, those same male posters would also chastise women who had been assaulted or murdered, saying they should’ve been more careful.

YEP. "Be careful around all men, you dumb broads! Except me and my buddies, if you're careful around us, you're just a snotty bitch!"

The same men I see telling women with deadbeat and/or abusive exs that they should have picked better. They move the goalposts so it's always our fault and then wonder why there's a male loneliness epidemic and more and more women have just stopped entertaining the idea of bringing men into their lives.

After how I've been treated by men since I started attempting to date in college, I'm fine with my fantasy version of reality IE writing romance novels with idealized but definitely fictional men instead of trying the dating pool again. After a guy used autism as an excuse to gaslight me into putting up with his bullshit, nah, I'm good for now.

What has been irritating the bejesus out of me is all the self-certified 'good ones' whining about "not all men" and how depressing it is that women talk about men as a collective and how it makes them feel too defeated to get off their asses and lift a finger to even condemn the violence, let alone actually address it.

Women are *dying by the thousands* due to a fucking epidemic of male violence and yet these whiny little shits can't possibly be expected to do anything unless their poor little fees-fees are front and centre at all times. We're supposed to be nice about them about the fact that their privilege is getting us murdered, and if we're not then it's our fault when they do fuck all and just sit back to continue benefitting from rape culture.

And these assholes think they're the good ones. For sitting back and expecting a cookie for not personally being the rapists. /endrant

The reality is a bear is more likely to leave you alone.

Also no matter what choice women made it would have been wrong according to these men because they blame us no matter what. They're all over the internet telling women to pick better but the reality hasn't hit them that picking better currently means picking no man.

“picking better currently means picking no man” wow I really needed to hear that right now, thank you. Currently trying to find the strength to do this.
