Stereophonic hive rise up!!!

Also, a hilarious byproduct of them now being the most nominated play ever

Stereophonic deserves EVERY award - it was transcendent

So happy for the Merrily gang!! I need it to win revival, and I want Groff and Radcliffe to win too, but I realize that may be unrealistic.

Kara Young better win her category.

Shocked by the Hell's Kitchen love, but I've heard a lot of good things about Stereophonic so those noms don't surprise me. Happy for sexy Oklahoma star Will Brill!

Didn't get the chance to see Gutenberg, but delighted it made an appearance here.

Mad I never got the chance to see Here Lies Love.

I have a theater trip lined up in a couple of weeks. So far, I've got tickets to:

Enemy of the People*
Stereophonic*
The Great Gatsby*
The Who's Tommy*
Patriots*
The Lonely Few (off-Broadway)
Three Houses (off-Broadway)
Illinoise*

*newly Tony nominated!

Still trying to decide on my last two shows. I am pretty sure one is gonna be The Outsiders - I was hoping for a better discount code than what's out there (only for shitty seats), but I am not optimistic. The other one... idk! If my plane gets delayed, I won't be able to see anything else, but if we get to ( ... )

Groff and Radcliffe are the frontrunners IMO. I thought Cabaret was going to put up a decent fight against them in the Revival, Director, and acting categories, but after the reviews they got, I can’t see anyone other than Merrily winning.

Yeah, you're probably right. I like Cabaret as a show, but I think it was probably too soon for a revival - one of the reasons I'm not going this trip (along with the batshit ticket prices).

If we are comparing shows, Cabaret is the better of the two (though I love both!) but if we are comparing productions, Merrily wins hands down for me. IMO if you’ve already seen Cabaret, especially if you saw any version by or inspired by the Mendes/Marshall/Cumming version, this production isn’t exactly going to blow you away. It has some good elements but it’s not worth the price.

Yay Will Brill! I was so impressed by him playing Roy Cohn in Fellow Travelers, I can't wait to see him in more things

Of note: seven of the ten director nominees are women! (4/5 for musicals and 3/5 for plays)

Was OH MARY! eligible? Because that should have swept.

Nope, that was an off-Broadway production. It doesn't transfer to Broadway until July.

FYI - there's a list of all the eligible shows in the post.
