she's a fine vocalist, comments like this make absolutely no sense in a pop landscape where someone like tate mcrae just scored two top ten singles. unless you're saying she can only stand out through dancing, which... i still don't entirely agree with lol.

But I think part of why tate is doing well is because of TikTok and her dancing… which is what Normani should be focused on. I do think she has a nice voice though, but she doesn’t have much of a personality or identity other than being overtly sexual and I think that’s what’s going to hurt her.

i think you can be a not-good vocalist in pop if your voice is distinctive, and normani's voice is fine but not memorable

I actually quite like Motivation but it's kind of a weird pop song. chorus goes on a little too long without one big clear hook, like it can't decide whether it wants to set a vibe or start a sing-along. not the Max Martin machine's finest work and I don't think a compelling way to introduce an artist
