Anna Gunn says people are finally being nicer to her about Skyler.

“People come up to me now & say ‘You were the conscience of the show...’ or ‘The first time I watched it, I hated that character. But the second time I watched it, I realized, Oh my God, that poor woman’”… pic.twitter.com/wtQUpJVMrk

I forgot in which season but you do realize early on that it was never about helping his family but him living out his fantasy and power trips that he felt escaped him.

A good chunk of the events in the series would've never happened had he accepted the money from his rich friends to pay for his cancer treatment but he was too bitter and prideful for that.

100% cosign with your comment. checked wikipedia, the episode where we learn about gray matter is literally season 1 episode 5 lol. at that point, it is made apparent that walter resents his life thus far as a high school teacher and goes all in with jesse.

Yeah he blames his former partners but he was the one who left that partnership. He wants to blame others but it was his own decision to walk away.

You think I’d turn down someone offering me free cancer treatments!

It feels like forever ago when this show came out. We were watching it and my brother and I were younger... I think he might have just started HS, if that. Skyler was scolding Walt for something and my brother said that she was being a bitch and my dad paused the show to discipline him lol. And he took the time to explain that based on the writing and it being a TV show we're not despising Walter the way we would if we knew him irl and Skyler was totally justified in her exasperation in the scene.

My dad was never the sexist/misogynist type or anything, he's really observant and introspective, so him saying that shouldn't have been a big deal to me but for some reason it really touched me that he took the time to explain that to my brother. (Who also isn't sexist/misogynistic and is really open-minded. He grew up to be a good egg.) I think we were both at that age where we'd get caught up in something without having the life experience to reframe it. My brother was 100% Team Skyler after that.

her treatment reminds me of how so many people insisted Shiv Roy in Succession (another masterfully written show) was the worst character and so especially terrible to her family and how dare she think she's smart, etc. there's literal neo-Nazi characters in the show. mysteriously, it's always the women in these unlikable protagonist prestige shows who are considered The Worst and 100% unsympathetic.

how could anyone think shiv was the worst in succession when frank and the other goon are right. there.

you hate Frank over Mark Ravenhead? to each their own! but I do think anyone who didn't have to deal with Logan Roy from literally birth is worse because what even is their excuse for orbiting him and enabling his awful empire.

Skyler is my queen and I love how the cast and Vince were protective of Anna. She has a lot of iconic moments but this one gives me CHILLS to this day-
