Anna Gunn says people are finally being nicer to her about Skyler.

“People come up to me now & say ‘You were the conscience of the show...’ or ‘The first time I watched it, I hated that character. But the second time I watched it, I realized, Oh my God, that poor woman’”… pic.twitter.com/wtQUpJVMrk

Back when Breaking Bad was airing, it was well known that Anna Gunn and the charcter she portrayed on the show (Skyler White) received huge amounts of vitriol, mostly from male fans, because of the character being an "annoying" obstacle for the show's "anti-hero" lead character Walter White.

Gunn has recently shared with The Hollywood Reporter that she now has more positive interactions with Breaking Bad fans with regards to her character on the show: “Now, when people come up to me, it’s incredibly different … There’s still a long way to go, but we have made seismic changes since then... So people come up to me now and say, ‘You were the linchpin for me. You were the conscience of the show. You were what pulled me into the show.’ Or they say, ‘The first time I watched it, I hated that character. But the second time I watched it, I realized, ‘Oh my God, that poor woman.”

I binged the show years after it ended, fully expecting to not like Skyler after hearing all the negativety surrounding the character, but she ended up being my favorite character from the very first episode all the way to the last. I'm glad Anna (and Skyler) is finally getting the praise she deserves these days, it's just sad that it's taken this long.
