ONTD Original: Stationery Influencers Are Indeed a Thing

Apr 16, 2024 14:41

While making a comment in the Michael J. Fox post about how Hollywood has changed, I talked about how there are tons of influencers who are extremely popular in their own little spheres of influence and how it's rare for influencers to become popular across multiple themes, audiences, target demographics, whatever. My example - stationery ( Read more... )

This is like stationary adjacent but I love Ralph Tyndall videos where he just makes greeting cards. I find it very relaxing

I also in the last year managed to lose my ziploc bag of pens and recently did a JetPens order and Dong-A ballpoint pen in 0.7 is amazing. Though I prefer a finer 0.5 most of the time, there are times when the 0.7 is better

I loooooove Jet Pens! I don't order from them often but when I do, I tend to go overboard.

I also like the vids where they buy a super expensive say advent calendar or set of felt pens and discuss why it's worth it or not.

Or when they buy from Temu and say if something is crap.

i'm about to start a stationary beef in my office. i noticed the otherwise very nice and helpful lady we hired to join our admin team using one of my pens. while they are not fancy, i am particular about my pens. i like what i like, i buy them for me to use. they are not sharing pens, we have cups full of bic ballpoints for that reason.

and this isn't the first time. my pens get disappeared all the time. i thought moving into a closed door office would help, yet here we are. so yeah, i'm simmering with irritation right now.

We have to lock up almost all supplies in the office or they just grow legs and leave - if I bought my own I would keep them in my purse/bag.

That happens to me all of the time. I need my pens to write, damn it. You can keep your crappy pens. I need my pens to do cash office stuff.

I have to hide mine...which sucks.

I have germaphobic tendencies and I will literally throw out my pen if anyone else touches it. I keep it with me all the time now in my pocket if I’m walking around the office just do some random doesn’t pick it up and use it.

What, you're not spending $25-$30 a week on planner kits?

girl honestly at one point i made my own! sometimes i feel like i would do fairly well on etsy if i ever put in the work. which at some point i might have to because my 2025 vacation is not gonna pay for itself!

I've been making my own stickers for years! I refuse to pay the kind of money these planner shops have started charging for freaking sticker kits. The only thing I don't know how to do is foil, which is a shame because I do like shiny things, so I buy foil bundles from places like Sadie's Stickers when they have a sale.

I used to be super into planners and all the assorted stickers that came with them, but now I'm so busy that I haven't cracked open my Hobonichi in weeks.

I used to watch plan with me and sticker haul videos all the time. I stopped when one woman, I want to say Plan Mosh Plan on youtube (who was incredibly obnoxious), went on a rant about how the foiling on one of the sticker kits, that she got for free, was slightly imperfect.

Isn't Go Wild this week? People who attend that are all batshit. I love stationery as much as the next nerd, but not enough to attend that mess.
