• Hatsune Miku (Yep, the same one from 2006), was set to make her Coachella debut this year.
• She's a hologram, a Volcaloid to be specific, but they couldn't even do that, instead having just a video of her

How long until they graduate from Miku to all those weird VTubers who are also wannabe pop stars? They have massive vtuber pop bands now with holograms. But just doing some searching, Miku Expo 2024 was recently and had a TON of issues including with the hologram/feed/whatever, so I think Miku is just currently broken in some way which is weird as fuck.

i went to a con where there was a booth doing meet and greets with v tubers on screen.

it wasn’t like set up well because you could walk past the screen and in front of the line just walking down the aisles… which i did and as i was walking by i apologized to the screen.

omg yes I saw that for the first time in person last year at AX and I overheard a bit of the convo and it was just...awkward? lol

Like the TV screen/monitor was up on a tripod and there was a long ass line and some weeb dude was just standing in front and there was like a webcam so she could see him I guess. And she was saying something like "it's so nice to be able to do this because I'm just sitting here at home comfy in my pjs with my cat on my lap while I talk to you guys, its great!"

And I was just like "....is it just me or does that sound a lil weird and rude?" lol idk

yeah! they had about the same setup at otakon, but the line wasn't long so it was easy for me to accidentally walk through.

definitely rude. but i would have thought the same thing in her position though. just kept it to myself lol.
