Daniel talks about his Broadway show Merrily We Roll Along (he also recommends the documentary Best Worst Thing That Ever Could Have Happened about the original 1981 production of the show). He says his parents played Sondheim for him as a kid and now his son is already growing up with Sondheim songs due to his role in MWRA.

I saw the documentary where he’s stayed friends and offered a lot of support to his HP stunt double who broke his neck on set and is now paralyzed. The fact that Daniel has stayed such closed friends with him and checks in on him regularly so many years later speaks greatly about his character imo.

I love this musical so much and it sucks that NOTHING new on Broadway has been memorable except for that one song sung by Alex Newell in Shucked

The new musicals this season have been so lacking. You would think with 15 new musicals, at least one would hit the mark.

It’s not for everyone but I loved the Kimberly Akimbo score, it does exactly what a musical score should do.

DanRad taking the 'zero fucks given' route has been glorious. I think he's really found his niche in comedy and he's sooooo wonderful on Broadway.

He has a son?! Holy moly but good for him. He and the other main 2 seem like genuinely decent kids with good head on their shoulders for the most part. I love that he just chooses and picks projects he enjoys.

Edit: nvm. I thought Daniel Radcliffe has a son..

they're watching the Harry Potter movies and he says that Daniel is very
good in them. Daniel's good natured response: "That's not true, but
thank you."

lmao

He was at the height of his alcoholism by the end of it so I don't blame him for feeling mortified of his performances. I'm so glad he got out of it and remained sober all these years. He's a joy to watch in Miracle Workers.

I was reading it as him cringing at himself as a (learning!) child actor (I didn't watch the video) but I can absolutely see him not being fond of his work during that time.
