The Scary Movie franchise is making a return.

The last film was 2013's Scary Movie 5 which flopped and starred Ashley Tisdale.

The film will go into production in the Fall of 2024, and should hit theaters sometime in 2025.

the second one was the peak of the franchise to me. i can see how this would work if they spoof horror movies that have been made since they stopped the original, but i don't know what the main one would be, since i'm blanking on if there's been any huge break out hits like scream since

Elevated horror is where it's at now, but they need to be really clever if they're spoofing the new era Maestros like Peele or Aster

I think the obvious choice would to make Brenda and Cindy a pair of paranormal investigators and craft a brand new conjuring story for them, and just fit as many jokes in there as possible.

The funniest thing the new SCARY MOVIE could do is cast Melissa Barrera and just carry on the SCREAM series that way.
