carrie is great. i just watched anatomy of a franchise on it last night and agree with the take that we don't really need more unless it features a radical departure from what we've seen before.

I was debating on what to read next and I think this post might be a sign. this book has been sitting on my shelf for over two decades, my high school bestie gifted me a copy bc, according to her, it seemed like my type of thing since I liked 'serial killers and all that' lol It's such an old edition tho, so I think I'll just get one on my kindle, the formatting on older books makes me a little tired.

thanks! I loved Salem's lot, IT (even tho it's unnecessarily long IMO) & Pet sematary is my fave of his, but for some reason I always forget about The shining lol

I'm not a huge fan of Carrie, but I remember reading his memoir On Writing ages ago where he talked a lot about writing Carrie and it was pretty inspirational. He grew up pretty poor and Carrie changed all that.
