I'm so happy that the youngins are changing the workplace in terms of (mental)health. Some of the shit we put up with in the 90s and early 2000s I'm telling you. It's fucking depressing when some of my fellow olds will want someone fired or reprimanded cause it's "what would have happened to us". And it won't sink in with them that we were fucking abused. I was still in the process of miscarriage and my boss had the audacity to tell me he was sorry for what I was going through but needed me to move faster. And the top two directors agreed and added I was in America now and maybe I shouldn't have immigrated if I couldn't keep up with the American work drive.

Oh wow, I am so sorry you went through that. I hope you have a much better, less stressful team/company.

I'm still with the same company, which is actually very well respected by the public. Much of this behavior still happens but they've learned to not say openly.

Gillian is one of the most real actors out there imo, but she's also probably my biggest celebrity crush so if she said she had that c-section on the moon I'd be ranting in this comment: goddamn y'all made her do space travel days after giving birth, you monsters.

edited to say that sounded stupidly insensitive of me and I lost my original thought that I'll bet she's got an incredible amount of tea she could spill about her time working in that environment and I hope she keeps telling these stories.

The fact that women constantly (and reasonably) worry about their careers, especially when they choose to start a conventional family, really illustrates how society still views motherhood as a way to keep women at home & dependent on men. It's absolutely insane that she had such a major surgery - and had a whole ass baby at home - and the studio offered her no security to the point she felt the need to return to work so quickly.
