my parents were New Yorkers so we often visited. I tried to rent Henry: portrait of a serial killer at Kim's video when I was like 14 I think, and the guy behind the counter would not rent it to me :(

the trailer reminded me a bit of the other music doc

also I just watched this trailer and started sobbing bc it reminded me of my childhood

this week I saw immaculate at regal for $6.66 and loved it. then later that night, I watched paddington on Netflix. I think I will watch paddington 2 tmrw maybe idk.

I feel like The First Omen is NOT an indie. I know it's not under The Big 5 (except it kinda is because Disney owns 20th Century Fox now) but it doesn't feel indie to me the same way a Searchlight (Fox under Disney) release would.

Anyway, I'm seeing it tonight. Monkey Man and Femme on Saturday! And I'll def check out Girls State if I find time this weekend.

Yeah, I hemmed and hawed about including it, tbh. but decided to simply because 20th Century is not technically on the Big Five list and there weren't a ton of new releases this week. But I totally get what you're saying!

I feel like I have heard a solid 3/4 people in favor of Monkey Man. I read one lone citizen review that had criticisms we could all see in the trailer but was open to seeing more from him as a director.
