everyone is always like "grey's anatomy is still ON?" but this franchise's entire existence makes me think like that. the first NCIS was a spin-off from JAG, which was a cancelled NBC show rescued by CBS 30 years ago. like this franchise shouldn't even exist.

Thanks for mentioning JAG - my dad loved that show. I have vivid memories of yelling down the stairs "Dad, JAG is on" and I'd hear this little "Ooh!" in response <3

He didn't take to NCIS as quickly because he had some kind of beef with Mark Harmon. But eventually he did get into it, the year before he passed away (2011). RIP

Anyway, I think it's cheating to include ALL the franchises in the 1,000 episode count. *sips tea*

This is really sweet. My mom passed a few years ago and today is her birthday so this is making me misty. Thanks for sharing ❤️

Not to add to your mistiness 🥲 but it's my mom's birthday today too! She's 84. So sorry for your loss ❤️

The original has lost a lot since Mark Harmon left. I just don't have the patience for it anymore.

NCIS Los Angeles was my favorite. The chemistry between LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell was amazing and the mean reason I watched.

NCIS New Orleans was wonderful too, with such diverse cast and so many women. Too bad that the show runner fucked it up with his racism and misogyny.

Sidney is truly terrible, but it's not surprising since it had a smaller budget and was never meant for US audiences until the strike came around.

Hawaii is the best. A woman in charge, diverse cast, wonderful scenery, a lesbian relationship and now Sam Hannah.

Edit to add that I'm not a grandmother ... yet.

Yeah I have caught and enjoyed reruns of LA and NO while I was traveling. I'll have to look for Hawaii at some point. And also look up wtf happened with NO...

The show runner was crap. He cut a storyline about an interracial relationship because 'it wasn't credible' or some such shit. He pushed women more than men. It was not a nice place to be. He was fired, but I think the damage was done.

I wonder if interracial relationship would've been LaSalle & Percy, because there was a LOT of hinting there for a while that they might get together.
