“I don't know if every woman goes through life like this, wondering, Am I pretty enough? Am I considered beautiful or not?,” muses @shakira in her Allure cover interview. “Sometimes you just look in the mirror and say, "It's a yes. And I can conquer the world.” Read more about… pic.twitter.com/UAaPwjWygG

I can't believe her 11 and 9 year old sons know the word emasculating. Wow, true prodigies.

Why does this make me think of that RBG tweet? Something about Wakanda as well. I think those may be two separate tweets…

"I like pop culture when it attempts to empower women without robbing men of their possibility to be men, to also protect and provide"

LMAO WHAT WERE MEN ROBBED OF - if anything my biggest critique of the Barbie movie is that the Kens got the biggest growth arc and spotlight with the big choreo number / song. Whatever Shakira.

lmao mte. i try to be careful how i talk about barbie because i know it did challenge a lot of people and i genuinely don't want to be a dismissive asshole about that but one of my biggest criticisms with the movie is how kind and forgiving it was to the kens. yes both women and men suffer greatly under the patriarchy but it went easy on a lot.

and like...it's a capitalism doll movie with the ultra charming ryan gosling i'm not MAD at that but i didn't see the same emasculating man-hating movie some other people did lmao

Barbie apologized to Ken. Ken DID NOT apologize to Barbie.

That sums up the movie (with all your points) to me.

I think Barbie has a lot of fair criticisms but I only ever want to hear them from women cause when men complain I roll my eyes.
