They really dashed through the Maddie storyline but damn if I didn't enjoy every second of it 🤩🤩🤩

The revival has been top tier and I have no major complaints so far ❤️ And the upcoming Storm storyline might just be my fave thing they've done and I'm glad that's the one being given multiple episodes ❤️‍🔥

I absolutely love this and I normally hate any kind of reboot. The animation style you get used to after a few minutes…at least I did. I love the voice acting and everything about it so far! Last week I went to a viewing party for the first two episodes and as a surprise they had the show runner 🥴. And Lenore there! (Voice of Rogue) 🥰. She did a few lines on the mic, judged a costume contest and even took at a pic with me. 10/10 for me so far.

I always prefer old school 2d animation so maybe that’s why lol

I’m right there with you. I was sus at first from the clips because it reminded me of a PowerPoint presentation with animated slides 😂. But after like 5 minutes I got used to it. lol.

I just rewatched it. S2-4 are enjoyable enough but i hated lack of Storm. She was largely ignored in the series. Should've been a teenager.

oh, i definitely agree. she was grossly ignored and should have had a bigger role. i just think it's cool that 97 also opened up a resurgence of evolution especially since it's from my childhood. plus it gave me Laura. :)

Evolution is still my favorite because it's what got me into X-Men as a whole.

Oh, my god! Can they PLEASE stop with this barely-disguised fetish/self-insert of Jean and Logan? ENOUGH!

[Spoiler (click to open)]Also, as much as I’m loving ‘97, and as quick as the pacing was in the OG series, they’re really speedrunning through storylines here. Inferno’s storyline should have played out over the course of two episodes as opposed to just one. It would have been somewhat quick too, but would have allowed some breathing room and the “impactful” moments to actually be impactful. Like, Madelyne just learns that she’s a clone, succumbs to Sinister’s control, becomes evil, names herself something that means absolutely nothing to non-comic book readers, then snaps out of it after 5 mins. Lol

Also, first glaring flaw... why the hell was Roberto there without any explanation? I get that the explanation is as simple as "I'm spending time with Jubes," but he wasn't implied to be there in episode 2 and just randomly showed up in episode 3 when there really wasn't a significant passage of time.
