look, we were gonna buy a house, but the door seemed like a better investment!!

I mean, when you really think about it, the first step to getting into a house, is opening a door. So it really is a good investment! We're just a hair less than halfway to owning our own house!

What do people do with these kind of props?

Like I think it would be fun to go to a prop auction but I would never be able to afford anything.

Between this fucking door and people insulting Rose for surviving and the despise and horrible hate Jenny from Forrest Gump gets, I can't watch people watching or discussing these movies anymore.

you cannot watch a reactor watching that movie without every single one of them (including women) hating her so hard
and the comments everywhere are extreme.

I would never spend money like that if I was rich but I also weirdly get it.

When my eldest went through their Titanic phase we went to the museum in Pigeon Forge and out of nowhere I started sobbing when I saw some of Kate’s dresses from the movies. Took me totally by surprise to have that reaction lol. That movie sure was something!

The door debate annoys me so much. There is literally a scene in the movie that shows him trying to get on the door with her, the door floods with water, and then he gets off and the door floats again with just Rose. So no, he could not have been saved.

The Mythbusters even did a segment on it.

C&P from another comment;
They had to tie their life preservers (similar to the kind available at the time) under the wall piece to keep them afloat*. But the average person wouldn't think to do that.

*Even then they sank down in the water a few inches, which I think would add to the hypothermia danger. Although they didn't address that.

Ooh, I forgot they did that.

Plus the freezing cold water probably makes it hard to think rationally.
