If they were both in their early twenties and just trying to figure shit out, it would be one thing, but Megan has three(?) children that depend on her for stability in their lives and to make sound decisions.

I keep trying to figure this out, because I know a few women around my age (mid 30s to early 40s) who keep getting into these kind of relationships or making really bad life choices (like willingly keeping an 'oops' baby with a brand new partner that has plenty of red flags already) even at our big age and having already living through these kinds of scenarios in our 20s.

The only explanation I can come up with is it's either a pattern they just can't get out of or the feeling of "oh, this may be my last chance ever to find that kind of ~crazy love~ at my age". It just blows my mind because how do you willingly jump into these situations when you already have kid(s) to factor in, past relationship trauma to learn from, a career you've worked hard to build, ect???
