'Blow' Actor Lola Glaudini Says Johnny Depp Berated Her on Set and Called Her a 'F---ing Idiot'; Depp's Rep Says He 'Always Prioritizes Good Working Relationships' https://t.co/k0jOKloowC - Variety (@Variety) March 19, 2024
I recently started watching a new reviewer on YouTube who didn’t seem to be a sexist asshole and then I saw his Depp playlist. He didn’t seem the type. Most of the reviewers I used to watch would casually throw an insult at Amber into a video. I stopped watching Nostalgia Critic after he did it.
that happened to me a few times. i love putting on reaction videos to shows i love as background noise at night and more than a couple of them totally turned me off by casually throwing in amber insults :/
There's no excuse for Johnny blowing up at her like that, but I think Demme should've stepped in and made it known that he was the one who told her to that. Him just staying is wrong. Reminds me of those directors that purposely create an antagonistic environment between actors to get those emotions on film.
Immediately I'm reminded of George Miller not remedying the tension between Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron on the Fury Road set because they're character are suspicious and apprehensive towards each other in the beginning so they want those emotions to translate into the film.
Actors can be a lot but a good chunk of the time the directors are permissive for the sake of art~
