I’ve heard (from a friend with a bike) that the Blitz post-production process is a disaster and people have been quitting left and right. We’ll see but it’s not a good sign.

I can’t stand Lanthimos’ films but I might forgive him if we get a Joe Alwyn Best Supporting Actor campaign just for fun lol

One not mentioned here that I just found out about and am interested in is Marielle Heller’s Nightbitch starring Amy Adams. Could this be her time? Apparently the book is really weird but after the last two Best Actress winners I’m not sure that it’s a problem and Marielle Heller is a consistent director who hasn’t had a real miss yet.

Oh no. Not happy about that Blitz news. Foe was so bad. I don't want to see Saoirse in another flop.

noooo, i came in to this post specifically to say i am really excited for blitz and want it to be good! (but i'm nosy so i still love bts gossip)

one thing that worries me about nightbitch is it wrapped filming in late 2022 iirc, so it's been sitting around for a long time. obviously a lot of studios decided to sit on completed movies when the strikes happened, so maybe it's nothing, but there's been so little news at all. i want to be wrong because amy deserves an oscar.

I enjoyed some of the films but also but not every single one had me in the chokehold.

And it was a predictable year.

mte The films were actually great, and we got lots of variety. The problem was the nominations/winners were pretty safe and predictable.

I usually love Fincher, but I found the killer an incredible bore.
I also dislike MF a lot, so my judgement may be skewed lol
