It's very good to hear that he's doing better. Even just reading 18 months in rehab is like...I can't fathom how bad it was for him to need such a long period of rehabilitation. He and his family must have seen some dark times, so it's very heartwarming to hear that they're moving to a better place.

I didn't want to make the text too long because #ontddoesntread, but he was hospitalized after he stopped a car in the middle of the road and caused a traffic jam.

“He said he wanted to turn the car off. And he turned the car off in the middle of the three lanes, and we were in the middle lane. There was a lot of yelling and screaming. The police got there, and they asked Jake some questions. He was talking to them, but none of it made sense. It was all word salad.”

That is so scary, glad no one was hurt.

I wish him all the best.

The NYT interviewed one of the kids who were auditioning for Anakin too. The behind the scenes is very interesting and makes me feel bad for all the kids who get into Hollywood.

Katie Rich (maybe? A film journalist?) keeps saying that the only acceptable use of AI in film is to replace child actors because no child belong in Hollywood, and I agree with her. Is there a singel child actor who hasn’t dealt with some shit related to the industry (or horrible stage parents) - even if they turn out ok in the end?

he did say that, while he luckly did not have personal experiences, Hollywood has a pedophilia problem and that there are “a lot of vipers” are preying on children

"He said his mother, Debra, protected him from the dangers of Hollywood as a child, and he “never went to parties where that kind of thing was going on.” He added that he’s been “led down dark paths to realize that these things probably are still happening.”"

He’s very well spoken. And I’m glad he never experienced any of it, but it’s still a really unsafe enviroment for a child

I hope that he's okay with her talking about this. While I agree that it's important to have a dialogue about mental illness, I feel like this should come from him (if he's ready to share) rather than from her. And the whole, "It wasn't Star Wars, he would've gotten schizophrenia anyway" - maybe that's true, but wasn't it documented how much the backlash had an impact on him? I don't really like that she's talking about this when he's still getting treatment.
