In a new docuseries, Drake Bell will come forward with allegations that Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck sexually abused him when he was a child actor. https://t.co/F1gMx1l6Lv - Entertainment Weekly (@EW) March 6, 2024
"In 2004, four years after “Boy Meets World” ended, Peck was convicted of sexually abusing an unknown Nickelodeon child actor. He spent 16 months in prison after being charged with eight counts of sexual abuse.
Oh wow so it was Drake.
We had a post about 2-3 weeks about Will Friedle and Rider Strong talking about their friendship with Peck. They supported Peck during the trials although both now heavily regret it especially Will:
“We’re sitting in that courtroom on the wrong side of everything … The victim’s mother turned and said, ‘Look at all the famous people you brought with you. And it doesn’t change what you did to my kid,'” Friedle explained. “I just sat there wanting to die. It was like, ‘What the hell am I doing here?’ It was horrifying all the way around.”
Strong and Friedle wrote letters to the judge in support of Peck. “We weren’t told the whole story, but it doesn’t change the fact that we did it,” said Friedle. “I still can’t get the words out to describe all of the things that I’m feeling inside of myself.”... )
That is so sad that Will and Rider were manipulated in that way. It shows how much an abuser can have everyone around them believe what they want them to believe. Ashton and Mila should take notes.
Yeah I was calculating their ages around season 5 when Peck had been there and Will was at least around 19-20 and Rider was 16-17. Peck was 20 years older than them at the time.
Obvs it's up to Drake to forgive them or not for it but I think it's important and good that they have owned up to it and acknowledge they were wrong.
That said I don't envy their place, it's a horrible position to be in.
I can't fault Rider since he was a child when all this happened. 19-20 is pushing it but I do understand manipulation is strong, especially with predators.
I really hope people approach this in the appropriate way but I know they wont. You CAN be a victim and CAN be a perpetrator of abuse, sexual harassment, rape and other violent behaviors. One doesnt cancel the other. You can feel for him knowing he was abused, but you can also hold him accountable for his shitty behavior himself. I always dread this discourse when things like this occur.
i feel horrible for the innocent kid he was and hope he finds a way to heal. however, his own crimes are inexcusable and i hope his victims find a way to heal that don't include damaging other innocent human beings.
How is this dude still working with kids? I listened to that Pod Meets World and Rider talking about how he saw the dude a few years ago and he was still talking about all the people he knew and Rider just got chills. It gave ME chills.
I hope this documentary means something happens :|

it wouldn't surprise me if the majority of people working with children in Hollywood were predators honestly :(
