Honestly this makes sense for Mercedes's character. I don't think her and same would've been together long enough for this storyline to make sense in season 5. Wish they had this same energy for Rachel when she loses her virginity to Finn for the sole reason that he felt he had nothing going for him.

This. I feel like that’s the subtext of what she’s saying. We would all be rich if we got $1 for every racist and/or fat phobic jokes made about Mercedes on that show.

Amber might’ve wanted Mercedes to stick to her guns due to personal beliefs, but I also think she refused bc she knew they would make some of the snarkier characters say mean spirited things about her and Chord’s size difference. That show was such a mess, as much as I loved it.

sam/mercedes was by far sam's best ship and sam was at his best characterization while with her. it's a real shame they backed out of giving them the bare minimum open ending in the finale like planned.

i think she's right that mercedes would have stuck to her guns and waited until marriage, so i'm glad amber stood her ground and they listened.
