i haven't watched this season yet, but i have to laugh at the thought of the earlier seasons' fans hate watching and driving up the ratings and getting it renewed lol

because every week i opened social media after the new episode to see endless complaining, but clearly they had to have watched to know what to complain about!

Honestly, if someone enjoyed the first season, then this season was right up their alley. The themes were quite similar but Issa's focus on women and Indigenous women in particular elevated the material.

how does the latest season compare to the first? it's probably my favorite bit of television ive ever watched, but season 2 was so embarrassing i never finished it. i tried with s3 and got bored. but that first one man... i'll give this a go either way because it seems great but im interested to know what people who are fans of the first season think. im glad nic the big baby is crying in a corner somewhere rn.

Gonna be honest, season 1 is maybe the best 8 hours of tv you could watch IMO, and season 4 is nowhere near the same caliber. It’s not terrible, but it’s pretty clumsy at certain points. Overall I liked how it concluded so if you go in without expectations you’ll probably have a good time.

tbh if it didn’t have jodie foster it wouldn’t have been made lol. imo anyway, but also, season 1 is one of my favorite things ever and i have rewatched many times, i love it that much. didn’t fuck with season 2 or 3, but watched all of season 4. i enjoyed the setting, scene, the heavy female cast, and the indigenous themes/representation. they had a beautiful midwifery scene, and the woman giving birth was surrounded by other women throat singing and it was amazing, it made me cry and beam with joy and was just really beautiful. AND i also enjoyed the ~reveal scene
