I haven't bought a new pokemon game since Sun and Moon, and I don't think I'm missing anything big. I'll play old ROM hacks any day, it seems like a lot of hand-holding these days.

I was looking at the other games by this dev that wasn't their AI art one, and they're like those studios that make knock offs of big movies, the Ratatoing of video games.

The ceo/director was not joking when he said "if there are good idea in the world, I pick them up, and I don't necessarily have to be particular about originality"

This is like when you check new movie releases and you see a bunch of low budget knockoffs like Transmorphers 4, clearly hoping to trick a few inattentive people into clicking it by accident after confusing it with something else.

Many pals are straight up lifted up Pokémon designs and flipped assets so this will be a very good case study on IP law and the limits of fair use

idc i hope the success of palworld pushes nintendo to improve the pokemon franchise. the graphics, performance, even gameplay is STALE. it's embarrassing especially considering how much money they make and how refined nintendo's other games are.

I had to mute all the Pokémon/general video game groups I'm in because the discourse has been non-stop. 🙃 I'll be... polite, and say that survival crafting games are simply not for me.
