Does anyone know what their ads are even like? I might actually switch because my hyperfocusing ass sometimes likes the breaks that ads create otherwise I just binge way too long.

But I'm def seeing the future of streaming just ending as higher priced specialty channels eventually.

Honestly the main reason I have Netflix (and Disney+) ais because there are no ads - they are just so annoying and take me out of the watching experience eugh

I don’t have ads on Netflix, but I do on Peacock, so if it’s about the same, for a 30 minute TV show I want to say there’s usually three ads dispersed around the show, or four, but the fourth one is usually all the way at the end and you can skip it to go to the next episode. For hour long episodes, it’s about double amount of ads, and for movies, it’s about three minutes of ads but they play all at once in the beginning, they don’t interrupt the movie to show you ads once it starts. The ads are usually 60-90 seconds

I've seen a fair few movies since moving to ads on Netflix and honestly most of them didn't have any ads at all and the ones that did weren't very long at all. I'm UK based btw. Haven't watched any shows so not sure how they are tbh

ill just do what ive been doing all this time: wait til the show(s) i wanna see drop, sub for a month, then cancel.
Thankfully, all these streaming services make it easy to do so.

But anyhow, there really is so many outlets to choose from.
We've never been more fragmented in entertainment choices. Mostly, i just listen to podcasts or watch youtube content.

They are starting to split their big shows and only doing a few episodes at a time now. So annoying. I too may start cycling. I have a girlfriend who does it with her husband and they only ever have 2 services at once and can catch up when they resubscribe.

At this point I'm only interested in having Netlfix for 2-3 shows per year, max.

I need to get better at cancel-cycling my streaming subscriptions in between and setting reminders when new seasons of my fave shows drop to sign up again.
