"Rap Sh!t" Cancelled at Max

After 2 seasons, the Issa Rae comedy has been cancelled. The show, currently on The Warner Bros.-Discovery streamer, had planned to have season 2 premiere in August but was pushed back to November due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. The season finished December 21.

Rap Sh!t is among other recently cancelled Max shows, including Julia and Our Flag

i read an article recently with the head of programming for hbo who claims that they will let canceled shows go if they can find another home, i don’t know how true that is (as in i can’t think of a show hbo cancelled that went on to be on another network) but if it is the case then that’s solid of them to do

Minx did get picked up by STARZ fairly quickly I believe after HBO cancelled it last year.

This past season was really good. The last 2 episodes especially. I hope someone else can pick it up.

I watched it, but the writing was shitty and I rarely saw/heard anyone talking about it. The writing was shitty on Insecure too, but at least it was a funnier and more stylish show with more universal themes.

ETA: I'm glad Insecure aired before this because THIS was Issa's passion project, so had this mess aired first like she wanted, Insecure never would have happened.

Could someone explain to me what the difference is between Max and the HBO that airs shows like Succession, Last of Us, GoT, etc? There is a difference, right?

The Max shows were initially the shows created specifically for HBO max as streaming exclusives before the HBO part was erased.
