I’ve never once seen a jukebox musical that I’ve loved. The best ones are okay and most of them are bad. I like a strong book and all of them are written to fit the songs rather than songs to enhance the story.

Perhaps it will find an audience, but Huey Lewis and the News is one of those bands that people say “oh yeah, they exist” when one of their songs come up on the 80’s station.

But I can’t fault them, I remember hearing Huey has hearing loss/meniere’s, which might make him unable to perform.

There’s more about it in the link from when they sold their catalog but yeah, he can’t tour anymore due to his medical condition.

Im meh on jukebox musicals but I love Huey Lewis & the News (plus I find Huey very cute) and the 80s so I may try to get some TKTS tix.
