Not shocked, but man, that is rough for this show in particular. I hope they can get it back on track after what I felt was a lackluster S2, but I'm not optimistic.

This is where I'm at. I loved S1 but S2 was meh in comparison and I've all but forgotten about this show, which is a shame because Christina and Melanie are incredible in it and the premise is A=

tbh I feel like they were one of the shows people talked about when the WGA strike was happening where a "mini room" is part of what cursed Season 2. So with a full room of writers and enough time, maybe they're fine?

I feel like season 2 was always going to struggle: we all knew how it would end, and the writers just had the unenviable task of filling in the middle.

But also, I think they spent ages writing season 1, and then only had a short time to write season 2 which is why is meandered a lot and didn't have the same sharpness.

Normally, I’d be upset, but this may be a good thing for them. Hopefully they can use that time to get out of their sophomore slump. Don’t get me wrong, season 2 was solid, but I think the writers/showrunners bit off more than they could chew in terms of stories for season 2. They seemed to fall into the trap of making every character do something super important at all times to keep the story running.

Honestly, keep it.
I said it in the Emmys post, but I have not witnessed a bigger fall off in a shows quality from one season to the other. Season 1 was so good and season 2 was absolutely terrible.

It really feels like the writers boxed themselves in. I have no idea how they intend to make this show last 5 seasons.

I just remember the excitement I felt at the end of the first season finale finding out Lottie was alive, etc. and then to get what we got in S2? Ughhhh

Plus there just feels like there is no stakes/surprises remaining. The only person who actually gets screen time that we care about thats future is unknown is Ben. Why do we care that they start munching on girls who were not in S1 and play no significant part in the show?

Ughhh, okay rant over lol
Hopefully they can somehow find their footing again, but I have my doubts.

Mari and Akilah’s fates are unknown still, and both were in season 1 (tbf Akilah was played by a different actress).

Do we care about them though? Maybe more so Akilah, but they haven’t done a very good job of building an emotional connection to the other assumed cannibal victims lol
