I remember when she was papped wearing a bikini on the beach and everyone lost their minds over how "fat" she looked. This would've been in the mid-2000s, pre-Kardashians. Much like Jessica Simpson in her infamous high-waisted jeans, JLH wasn't fat in the bikini, she just had/has a very curvy shape. She even released a statement about how the scrutiny of women's bodies was gross and how she wasn't ashamed of her body, but then a few months later she was on a magazine cover showing off her weight loss.

I was in college at the time, but I grew up watching JLH on Party of Five and in her teen movies, and she was THEE It Girl, so the whole thing was just really depressing from start to finish.

Yeah, I've never had love for JLH as a celebrity or an actress, but I can also have full sympathy for someone who was sexualized by grown men as a teenager reflecting on how f*cked that was.
