Sadly, I didn't care for the Suspira remake. The original is a hour and a half long and truly a beautiful looking film with a tight plotline, so why the hell is the remake 2 hrs 45 minutes? It didn't keep my attention because there was a bunch of meandering shit they could have cut out combined with flashes of interest and excitement that were only too brief, and while I like the fact that this was set in Berlin, what I didn't like was the color scheme; it's like the director went out of his way to make Berlin look like a Soviet prison?

Does anyone know which streaming service has the original? Now THAT I would like to revisit.

I love the original Suspiria. I love when somebody smarter than me said that the film operates on dream logic and it made so many things click into place.

Awww, bummer you didn't like the remake! It's definitely divisive. I fucking love it, but view it as a completely separate thing from the original, which I also like a lot.

I think the drab color scheme was a very deliberate choice to set it apart from the original and fit the feeling of the setting and time, and though it's not pretty, it's grown on me with rewatches. Really love the Volk!!

I'd like to see American Fiction. I have a crush on Jeffrey Wright lol

I'm dying to see Poor Things!!

I saw The Boy and the Heron last week. It was gorgeous, and I enjoyed it, but I didn't love it. I have many questions.

The more I think about Boy and the Heron the more I appreciate it, but I too still have many questions. What did the parakeets represent??

[Spoiler (click to open)]Why was Himi at the tower? What was her year away for exactly? Just to be there for Mahito? Because it doesn't seem that she was considered as a successor for the uncle, which is what I wanted it to be lol.

I tried watching the second Maze Runner movie (watched the first one a while ago) and how did I not know this is a zombie franchise??? Just out of nowhere, zombies! I had no idea. I turned it off because I don't actually like zombie movies.

As a Black person who did freelance writing for years, the trailer for American Fiction had me SCREAMING.
