Women actually love comics though? I don't feel like superpowers are the barrier. Bc tons of women read manga and webcomics with characters that essentially have superpowers.

i got really into captain marvel for a hot second a decade ago, but i went from one chapter to the next and had absolutely no idea what was going on, because there'd basically been a whole-ass chapter that had happened in another series because there was a crossover event. and that was already after having to try to piece together what her background was from before that particular run had started. and then it got cancelled, but they started a whole new captain marvel run like immediately after??? it just felt like WORK to be a fan.
