I read an article about what the movie was about and apparently Willy Wonka is an ONTD member;

Normally I would use a spoiler tag but I kind of can't embed and use it at the same time with the new editor apparently; If you are concerned about the theatrical integrity of knowing the plot of the WONKA movie, I hope you find something more entertaining to do with your time. And spoiler warning.

I kind of liked Timothée Chalamet as Willy Wonka. I did not like that the plot of this movie is about how he signs his life away to forced labor at a hotel because he’s illiterate https://t.co/o0tRJHhSHA

what

It’s explained that Willy can’t read because he devoted all of his studies to chocolate. And he seemingly can make chocolate from anything, including thunderstorms, bugs, and clown tears. Which seems to suggest Willy is supernatural, even though he’s illiterate and can’t figure his way out of a contract with a local inn.

Probably would've been easier to study chocolate if he learnt to read.

But I wanted to see how he started out as a young sociopath and it doesn't sound like this movie covers that.

I was never really a big Wonka fan (love Gene Wilder though) so I have zero interest in this.

I don’t get chalmet’s appeal tbh and I think I’m good on wonka movies even though I’ve only ever seen the original
