- quite a few people I think have stopped going to theaters due to Covid and are not that interested in going back in general when they know a movie will end up on a streaming service for sure
- even if people want to go back to theaters after Covid, unless you have some deals or whatever available, it is really expensive (from what I gather even more so in the US than my country). Even just tickets. Not everybody wants to pay that or can afford to.
- MCU/comic movie fatigue due to too much output (no matter if it really needs to be seen to understand things) and a massive drop in quality due to the lack of a storytelling vision.

I hate that studios won't do shit to make it easier for theaters to lower ticket prices again, which is what would probably help the most to get people back to go see films.

There are a plethora of reasons it didn't make a billion dollars, and NONE of them are because the film executives were hands-off.
