Taika Waititi says, as an auteur, he initially had no interest in doing the ‘THOR’ films - “I never read ‘Thor’ comics as a kid.”

“I was poor & I’d just had a second child. I thought, ‘this would be a great opportunity to feed these children.’”

one of my pet peeves is when rich people say "i had to do this to pay my bills/pay my mortgage/feed my family" he's worth $13 million be quiet

That's why 99% of people take any jobs.

If you have to call yourself an auteur, are you really one? I think it's really something you build up over your career and other people label you because of specific aspects of your work.

But for me, there's a level of try-hard where it ceases to be a firm vision with homages to faves and becomes just straight up stealing the superior styles of actual auteurs *cough*Tarantino*cough*
