Ok but how many people still have a fax machine to receive them? Do what you want with your friends ig but if it's for business I would be so annoyed if someone wanted to fax me. Like I hate work emails too but it's better than waiting for an actual piece of paper I might have to scan, just send me a digital copy

You can digitally fax. We do this at work when needed with our older clients so to us it’s basically like an email and they receive it and it looks like regular fax.

my printer has a fax feature that I never use. had to send a lot of faxes at a previous job because everyone was too lazy to send the info by computer.

oh boy so I'm a train conductor and the railway is extremely behind the times with technology (in the UK, anyway), so I have to fax all my reports and repair slips, but it's not anywhere NEAR what the drivers have to deal with:

train drivers aren't issued company emails for some reason (no one can adequately explain this) so they have to fax EVERY instance of communication with anyone, including requesting annual leave or to pick up overtime shifts. however, daily leave for 2024 opened some day in October at midnight, so a few weeks ago there were like 300 drivers in the mess room at midnight queuing for the fax machine to request their daily leave

also at one of our major station depots the power cut out earlier this month and the fax machines there were all down for about 10 days, which meant that no drivers were able to ask rosters to work overtime, which meant a bunch of trains were cancelled due to lack of staff

honestly it feels like I work in a Kafka novella at times
