I gave up on Doctor Who partway through Capaldi's run as the Doctor, but I definitely want to tune in and watch this!

(But like... maybe not until tomorrow. lol. I got stuff going on today.)

God I LOVED that. I was so excited beforehand that I thought my expectations were gonna be way too high but it absolutely lived up to them.

- I love how 14 is so in touch with his emotions! Saying he loves Wilf and Donna and then telling Donna what losing her did to him? GROWTH!
- Loved Donna's family. I hope we see more of them especially Rose.
- Meep was such a fun villain. The scene where Donna's husband walks in on the place in chaos had me crying laughing
- When Donna said she gave it away because "It's what he would've done" and no one asks her who but you KNOW WHO SHE MEANT!! so good
- The first time she called him Doctor I had to pause to scream lol
- Just a perfect ep. I feel so lucky to have them back for even a brief moment!

The episode is fun but dragging 10 and Donna out of retirement felt very much like the show has ran its course

It does feel very end of the shows run with all the memberberries.

See I see it as the opposite. It's injecting some life in to the show with returning favourites of not just diehards but casual viewers who have switched off over the years. I think it's pretty clever to get them back so people are engaged and are more likely to watch Ncuti.

so basically the moral of the story is "we have no confidence our chosen future for the franchise will appeal to viewers, so we have to tempt them in with comfort of the past"

I appreciated how it came out swinging for trans rights even if it was a little corny in the process. It's a kids' show. Corny is allowed.

David is a big trans rights activist. I believe one of his kids is non binary, and he’s made it his mission in life to support them.❤️

I'm dragging my feet watching this bc I never liked Ten and I do not think it's fair Tennant gets to do the role again on screen and my boy Paul McGann does not and I'm going to complain about it til people get mad at me and then I will continue to complain about it.

But I want to get to Ncuti and I hear some classic companions are being brought back for one of these specials so...maybe I'll get cozy and watch tonight or tomorrow. Really like the classic inspired TARDIS interior though, and I am glad to hear that the writing for the episode is fun.

I have heard rumours about McGann returning tbh! I'm not expecting much but my fingers are crossed.

Rumour is that Paul McGann is getting his own spin-off.

Oh PLEASE GOD let this be true. pic.twitter.com/sqjvtqhiGi
