Ignoring the actual post itself (sorry OP!!!!) only to say that it’s an absolute INJUSTICE that Nicky and Saku were kicked off. They should keep funny people around even if they’re not the best bakers!! Lol. The winners of my heart! 🥰

I like that Dan incorporates more international flavors and ingredients but of course Paul has to be a stick in the mud about it. I can’t decide if that’s better or worse than when he pretended to be an expert on Mexican food last season.

I loved that Dan’s response was to cheerfully say you can put anything inside pastry.

In contrast to GBBO sticking to European food unless they’re exoticizing/othering another culture and bastardizing their cuisine, I love that the Great Canadian Baking Show uses ingredients, recipes, and dishes from all over the world so casually and the bakers don’t freak out, the judges pronounce the words correctly, the ingredients/recipes are explained to the audience correctly and without making a huge production about “ooh look at how we’re making the bakers use do this really weird thing.”

Great that Cristy is fine but I feel like all bakers have been on/off this season so will no one really outstanding so will be interesting semi final next week.

Still don't really like Dan but Paul being all crazy about proper sausage rolls was so dumb. Dan's mixture would for sure taste good layered between pastry sheets.

I miss Saku and Dana, they were both funny and charming plus they didn’t take Paul’s shit. And they were so funny on extra slice too

Man the signatures and technical looked so good this week. Sometimes with show I really wish I could hunt down what they're making near me because I really want to try them.

Matty's showstopper was so cute and creative I'm glad he won. Josh's looked nice but Christmas baking is a bit of a chip shot.
