Everything is absolutely awful but seeing the massive protest match in London this weekend and that demonic Suella woman get sacked has put the ghost of a smile on my face.

Here in France Macron kinda woke up a tiny bit and started asking Netanyahu to pretty please stop massacring civilians. It will have the same impact as his talks with Putin (so none) but it’s nice to finally see him acknowledging the orgy of war crimes Israel is committing.

The polls from most western countries show overwhelming support for a ceasefire from young people but we live gerontocracies so I have very little hope things will move in the right direction, politically.

It’s fucking insane how that’s happening like DAVID CAMERON? David Brexit Cameron?
As a foreigner who has lived in the UK before and after Brexit the country has gone downhill so quickly that mofo should be nowhere near the government

Literally. They’ve ran out of conservative politicians after ousting all the centre-right ones to get more hard-right pro-boris ones in power, so now they’re recycling scraps.

What I find most upsetting is that this will probably make the conservatives more popular because they’re all about that blast-from-the-past bs, plus the labour party is still clinging on to Kier Starmer despite him being a carbon copy of every bog-standard tory backbencher, so this lot will probably never get voted out.

About to watch this episode, but he also made a good statement on the episode that aired directly after October 7. He called out collective punishment and called it for what it is, and he called what was set to happen in Gaza a "humanitarian disaster".

so this isn't available for me to view apparently, I went searching on Youtube in case somebody else uploaded it and one of the top results was "John Oliver Denounces Israel's Bombing of Gaza." It was from two years ago.

SOMEONE TRY AND TELL ME THIS STARTED OCT 7TH. JUST TRY.

Apparently our foreign minister has turned off people's ability to @ her on Twitter, not sure if our defence minister ever allowed it but I couldn't @ him this morning when I tried on Instagram. She's also apparently told her staffers to tell callers that they cannot pass on messages about Israel (lucky I called before that, I guess the death toll has now reached an unacceptable level for far more people). I'm just so fucking furious especially considering Australia apparently has even less transparency than the US on our arms deals and our weapons could in fact be used in Gaza right now???

FUCK I want to threaten our politicians some more, they don't deserve our votes.

I'm probably now just ranting into the void but I don't care. I'm so angry at the fact that our prime minister and even the fucking UN are repeating this human shield nonsense.

What use is putting a couple of Palestinians in front of you in the face of a fucking Hellfire missile or chunks of a multiple storeys falling on you? We know the underground network of tunnels exist, why are these assholes still going on about human shields given it's very unlikely Hamas are just strolling around hospitals and refugee camps when it would be much safer deep underground? It's definitely possible that I've missed it but I've been following news updates across Guardian and Al Jazeera as well as Gazans and activist accounts on social media pretty closely, I don't think I've seen a single piece of objective evidence of human shields????

I'm losing my fucking mind at the nonstop gaslighting from these assholes still scrambling to justify this GENOCIDE.

Also, I fully don't understand this because to me a "human shield" means you don't shoot under any circumstances. If Israel is just murdering everyone, even their own people, obviously the very concept of human shields doesn't even work so why keep perpetuating the lie?
