Tom Hiddleston talks about playing against Usain Bolt in Soccer Aid for UNICEF, shares how the finale of Loki Season 2 is a full circle moment and responds to fan theories about the series.
If this is the last time for Loki, I will be so distraught lol. [Spoiler (click to open)]Having him be all alone for fucking ever, when he was terrified of being alone, is just such a tragic ending for him, I know it was the glorious purpose he was burdened with, but nope, breaks my heart, PLUS I JUST NEED SOME FUCKING THOR AND LOKI CLOSURE, I NEED TO SEE THEM TOGETHER ONCE MORE AND KNOW THEY'RE BOTH OKAY
I will never fully be free of these goddamn characters, the MCU fangirl from my younger years will forever haunt me
Don’t feel too sad, back in October they confirmed a plan was in motion for them to have a reunion further down the line. I’m looking forward to it because I know Thor’s gonna be proud of Loki ☺️
I'll hold onto that lol. I just need them to hug, and have a goddamn conversation where they're not angry at each other, and no one is scheming or dying or just the both of them being completely pants at openly communicating.
i’ve never been particularly invested in loki (character or show) but i agree with your take on the ending and it felt like even more of a bummer after episode 5 ended with loki finally realizing that what he really wanted was to not be alone…. like ok he went through that whole journey of self realization only to need to move away from it in the next ep? idk i found it depressing
Someone on Instagram claims Loki S2 is the best Marvel show since Wandavision and I was thinking about starting it (haven't even seen S1 yet). From the comments here I'm gathering that this info isn't the most accurate?
It's actually quite good Secondary characters are pretty great and the acting is fairly good (I adore Ke Huy Quan and Wunmi Mosaku, so my opinion is biased). But it's not one of the lighthearted show, it's definitively going a bit darker If you want some fun I'd go with Miss Marvel, which is adorably cute Darker, go Loki Avoid the rest (especially secret invasion which is a waste of queen Olivia)
Compared to the rest of the MCU shows... it is at the very top I think. It's fairly different from Loki S1, but I would say it's more enjoyable in the way it isn't burdened with advancing MCU. While it does feature Kang, it is it's own story, happening somewhere in the corner of the MCU, building on it's S1 lore, not looking to introduce new characters, new concepts, new mechanics into the universe.
IDK if D+ has the option, but I would DEFINITELY watch on a platform that allows 1.25x speed, especially this last episode. A little bit like Hannibal tv show, it can be pretty indulgent at times
I think it's definitely one of the better stories coming out of the MCU. I like the timey wimey Doctor Who-like plot, the characters are compelling and fun and I adore the retro design of the TVA and the music.
Not sure if this will really be the last time we see of Hiddleston - they've shelved Loki a couple of times before and always brought him back. The TVA is now in charge of keeping the Kangs in check so there's still a chance to bring all of this back into the fold with future films. Fingers crossed!
I think Loki is one of the worst MCU shows, it’s just so boring to me. I watch because I’m still an MCU stan and I adore Ke Quan but it was such a chore to get through.
[Spoiler (click to open)]They did confirm this was it for Loki so I’m glad the character had a decent ending…well until Secret Wars or whatever lol
WandaVision remains their best D+ output and I hope they mean it when they say they’re going to slow down with the shows.
there's no season finale discussion thread so i'm just posting this herequirkyblah38November 11 2023, 14:05:45 UTC
ok so i don't understand how a trickster god can't just leave a facsimile of himself there permanently and then just go do ordinary loki thangs? or is it just taking all of his power to keep everything there? i'll be a bit bummed if he is just the guy who is the tree for eternity. i mean, mcu already has one of those
( ... )

I'm gonna assume, for the time being, he just needs his whole strength to hold all the timelines together. Maybe when they need him in a future instalment they can have him be able to communicate somehow or they restructure the multiverse because Kang is defeated everywhere and it can now flourish on its own or whatever.
But yeah, I also appreciate how this is really something you can call god mode. There's been so much talk about gods in the MCU but they are rarely shown to be more powerful than your run-off-the-mill earthling who just had a weird accident. lol
