Tyler Perry says "it’s really important to know when we’ve won" amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

"This is only a three-year deal. In two and a half years we’ll be re-negotiating again. So we have to know when we have won for now. That’s the thing. For now! If I had ran my… pic.twitter.com/9rY8OXvfRT

tbh considering how CHEAP and quick his productions are, he's probably pro-AI copy and paste.

there's been progress on the AI front, I really hope a deal is made tonight, even though it has to go to the actors to be voted on. I am so sick of publications and pundits scrapping for news. I want these people to work on things they like, I want them to be well paid and have benefits, I want my goddamn for all mankind promo tour.

I had so many Tyler Perry project auditions while I was in the Atlanta market, and I absolutely believe this especially based on the sides I received…🤐

The lack of promo tours is going to hurt the box office for all the Oscar-hopeful movies and the studios know this. They've let the strike drag on for too long already.

They've fucked up the film release schedule for next year and destroyed TV/streaming for scripted series in 2024. We're going to get more crappy reality junk. It all stinks.

I said it before and will say it again; The CEOs need to be fired for holding onto the AI and likeness cloning for so long because the way they want it is stupid and would essentially destroy the art of acting as a profession in the united states and that's AFTER they ruined the '24 calendar year like you said

"its only a 3 year deal"

and you'll be saying it again in 3 years "why strike? its only 3 more years until we can renegotiate?

That’s how we continue to get crappy deals. Our Interactive Media contract is a clear example of this.

if you give the studios an inch now on AI, then in three years the studios will want to push it even further. so it’s important to hold the line now before it gets that far. bye Tyler!

but in more positive news, based on the news/leaks today, it seems that the studios might have seen the backlash to the AI proposal and are now scrambling so hopefully a good deal is in sight!

The average person doesn't really understand residuals or how actors qualify for insurance but they do understand that it's creepy to scan someone and they have the right to use the likeness for anything a studio wants. Black Mirror was very clear about how painful that could be. The studios have dug their heels in on the one issue I think the average consumer would be upset about. It's a huge miscalculation.

Tyler Perry has always hated unions. Didn’t he like fire all of his shows writers?

he'll never run out of money so why would he give a fuck. also he's notoriously anti-union and goes out of his way to screw ppl over/avoid hiring union workers on his productions when he can
