Grant Gustin and Isabelle McCalla have been cast in the Broadway musical Water for Elephants. Previews begin on February 24 and the show is scheduled to open on March 21. yeah, i'd actually probably like the arrangement if it went somewhere

it's the kermit tone in both of their voices for me, when gustin came in it was like a visceral reaction to nails on a chalkboard

IKR? The lyrics! It's like they were written by someone who had never heard Sondheim or even Oscar Hammerstein, and it seemed endless.

I remember that big, rolling scaffolding piece from American Idiot.

The circus stuff looks like fun but I dread those songs.

Those lyrics are god awful, a whole lot of nothing being said in that song and repeating the same thoughts / feelings over and over.

I also hated the insufferable old man narrator in the book, and books that romanticize circuses drive me up a wall. Now, the day the adapt Freaks into a musical, that might give me something to look forward.

(Grant has a solid voice.)
