colman domingo is great and so underrated. will get to rustin once it hits netflix.

i watched carol last night for the first time and i somehow had no idea kyle chandler was in it? i’m slowly watching friday night lights right now so it had me going between “eric taylor would never!” and “harge and rindy??”

i’ve heard so many people talk about how much they love fools rush in since the news broke about matthew perry and i’ve never seen it, but it sounds right up my alley, so i might give that a go this weekend.

Went to see Priscilla last night. The hair, makeup and costuming were all incredible, and Cailee Spaeny was fantastic. The first half of the film felt a lot stronger than the second, unfortunately, but it was extremely easy to empathize with Priscilla throughout - the crush, the adulation, the heartbreak, the frustration. Jacob Elordi was very good, too. As a biopic, it's just kind of limited in what it can do, especially for the end, and that's definitely a weakness.

Planning to see The Holdovers and Quiz Lady soon, and will definitely check out Rustin and All Dirt Roads in the next couple of weeks.

Taking my husband to see The Virgin Suicides this weekend - he's never seen it, and I haven't seen it in years, and never in a theater! Excited for that soundtrack to hit:

Seeing The Virgin Suicides in a theater sounds like a dream. Not only is it gorgeous, but the needle drops in that movie are just killer

Man, where do you live where Virgin Suicides is in theatres again? I’m in Fresno, no way it will be showing here… :(

It's just playing in one of our local theaters that almost exclusively screens older films. They program a month at a time, and this month they are doing Sofia Coppola Sundays, probably to coincide with the release of Priscilla. Today is The Virgin Suicides, next week is Lost in Translation, the following week is Marie Antoinette, with Somewhere closing out the month.

I'm seeing Priscilla, an early screening of Saltburn and The Killer this weekend! Might have to wait for streaming for Rustin and All Dirt Roads. Def interested in Fingernails for that cast.

And I might do the Society WHM commentary at some point. I suspect I will be covering my eyes a LOT.

Saltburn was WILD.
I LOVED The Killer
Priscilla was all style and very little substance

I missed Radical at the festival, so I hope it will get a regular run at the filmhouse. I started November film month with the Netflix airport film, The Present (Palestinian short) and Happy Ending (Dutch Netflix film, so now what to expect).

i saw the killer last weekend; it was good but not great and not in the highest tier of fincher films, imo. it was slick and entertaining but parts of it were a little slow and it did feel like something was missing. i gave it 4/5 stars.

seeing the holdovers tonight and can't wait! da'vine joy randolph is already getting frontrunner discussions for best supporting actress.

as a game show (and sandra oh) stan i can't wait to see quiz lady, i'll probably check it out sometime this weekend. also excited to see rustin, priscilla, and saltburn.
