The New Yorker standing by the article isn't surprising, but it sure is sick. Clare, the reporter, straight up lied about the homecoming story. She showed more care and compassion towards the FBI informant than Hasan.

Meh, he still ran a toxic set on his last show. He doesn’t deserve it.

Just can't get over how there was an actual story to be investigated here with how some of the South Asian women who worked on Patriot Act reported it was a hostile work environment and yet this author focused instead on absolving bigots and denying Hasan's experiences of racism and Islamophobia.

they said out to make this random white woman the victim and a man of color out to be a deraged liar, but crumbs for the women of color with actual grievances

She even showed more care towards defending an admitted F.B.I. informant who we KNOW infiltrated
mosques than any of those women, it's absurd.

i genuinely think the way the industry turned on him for this story is crazy. you can have people who are actual homophobes/transphobes/abusers etc and they're still in business but he was taken down...

i think hasan definitely has some flaws but the shift away from him definitely hints at islamophobia in the comedy industry
