Follow up to this post, Hasan responds on his YouTube channel to the article that alleged he fabricated racist experiences in his stand-up and publicly humiliated a former classmate who turned him down for a date to the prom at his comedy show.

He shows evidence in the video in the form of emails and text messages that the things The New Yorker said he embellished about being dumped before the prom because of his race was actually true. He and the classmate also kept up a friendly email correspondence for years and it was her who asked him to come to his show, not the other way around (the article said he invited her specifically to tell that story about the prom to embarrass her publicly). He also shows proof that he gave their emails to the New Yorker and they just didn't mention it for some reason.

He also goes into the stories he told in his stand up about getting mailed suspicious white powder and being harassed by police and said that they were real experiences he had that were just exaggerated for comedic effect (he plays the audio of him explaining this to the interviewer at the time).

ETA: The white woman with racist parents (by her admission in the emails that The New Yorker chose not to reference) also claimed to face years of harassment after Hasan used her picture in his stand up, but it turned out to be a blurred photo of a paid actor.
