Marvel Removed A Pandemic Subplot from Falcon and Winter Soldier

Ha. Marvel finally admitted Falcon and the Winter Soldier had a pandemic/virus subplot that they removed. It's a shame, because this could've been a great show had the Flag Smashers been executed properly. https://t.co/W94cCN0M2N

I was always skeptical about this because one of the "sources" used as evidence was a 4chan leak that was completely wrong about the plot of the show, but I'm not surprised it turned out to be true. I don't think this show was ever going to be great, but I'm guessing the original version would've been more cohesive.

I don't think I would have wanted to watch it if it did have a pandemic plot. I haven't watch station eleven because I don't love watching content centered around a pandemic when I'm actively living through a pandemic. I'm fine watching movies and tv series about difficult subjects, just not that... for now.

I think I need covid to actually become seasonal like the flu before I dive into all of that

That's fair. I found Station eleven to be a very cathartic, very open and warm show despite being about the end of the world/pandemic

Yeah, to me it doesn’t even feel like it’s about a pandemic because it takes place 20 years later, and also, the pandemic is so unrealistic and unlike the real one. Not to say that it’s not unsettling but it’s actually quite optimistic and beautiful. It’s a rarity in post-apocalyptic fiction.

Oh yeah, there was a show about them.

ngl this show could have been six whole episodes of Bucky and Sam fixing that boat and I would have eaten it up. The best parts of the series were them annoying the hell out of each other and being offended whenever John Walker showed up.

Exactly. It's honestly the only Marvel I fully liked. Sam & Bucky could've been sitting on the porch talking shit all day and ai would've gladly watched lol

Why lie that it had nothing to do with covid? Made the plot uneven but I think people would understand lol

As a whole the show didn't work for me but the Sam and Bucky dynamic and the John Walker plot worked well.

Okay the JW one fizzled out at the end but Marvel doesn't know how to stick a bad guy landing.
