`Barbenheimer` has encouraged Alamo Drafthouse employees to Unionize

While “Barbenheimer” was a boon for movie theaters, it was the breaking point for many workers. At a time of labor action in the movie industry and beyond, union activity is expanding at movie theaters themselves, a trend which began during the pandemic. https://t.co/RWn5RZ5LQ3

i support all workers right to unionize

it makes sense to me that covid downturns probably led to understaffing at theaters but theater owners knew for months to gear up for barbieheimer and to intentionally not fill jobs or staff adequately to cut corners is unfair to workers to say the least

COVID 100% had an impact. pre-pandemic Brooklyn Alamo was packed and well-staffed, but now it feels like a shell of itself.

The co-founder, Tim League, in leaked recordings, kept going on about how he was a Democrat and supported Bernie Sanders.

Good for them! As a former theatre employee, at a garbage theatre chain, we were constantly understaffed especially during the holidays and blockbuster releases. It fucking sucked! I wouldn't wish that chaos on anyone.
