October 14, 2023 Call it Unionheimer!
- Theaters were (surprise!) understaffed.
- Alamo Drafthouse workers in Manhattan are unionizing because they were understaffed during the big rush that was the third weekend of July, and join their bretheren at the Alamo in Brooklyn.
- Unsurprisingly, there is pushback by Alamo with flyers showing anti-union rhetoric.
- The co-founded, Tim League, in leaked recordings, kept going on about how he was a Democrat and supported Bernie Sanders (???)
“For years the workers of Brooklyn Alamo have tried to solve problems through dialogue with management, to no avail,” the union statement read in part. “Now Alamo Drafthouse must meet us at the bargaining table.”
