I really think that the last few seasons damaged the show a lot. It would probably receive more attention, if not for the direction it went in.

Yes. It really became very silly and soap operaish. I mean I still watched the heck out of it, but the quality downturn was really obvious.

I still love this show. Even the later seasons. It always meant a lot to me in middle school because it was like my reward at the end of a terrible school day to watch it on TNT. Even though I wasn't allowed to watch it, and had to do it in secret.
