I had (one of my favourite) a teacher hit on me and try to get time to go home with him 6 months out of school. I was so disappointed and disturbed. The first time I remember being overly sexualised was when I was 13 and I caught a teacher staring at my boobs because my hand-me-down tank top was too big and my bra was showing. My friend came up to me after class and said ‘you can’t wear that anymore’ cos she had noticed as well.

There was also a teacher who had to leave our school because he was caught dancing with a student in our small town nightclub. And I can think of two young/just teachers off the stop of my head who had secret relationships with students. I think it’s still like that. My hometown is very out the way and the school was desperate to hold on to whatever teachers signed up. Not a safe environment.

I think it happens more often than we know too, sadly. My high school friend was groomed by a teacher 40 years her senior (who was married with kids much older than us) and her family allowed and even encouraged it, and after graduating I heard more stories of teachers preying on students. Never would’ve thought it’d happen at my school.

18 years old and had had a series of mental health issues because of being famous; she was in serious burn out and struggling with disordered eating. Then along comes this rich, older guy who's happy to make her a trophy wife and take her out of it. His pick up technique was to buy her a stupidly expensive car she wasn't even licensed to drive.
